Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting, Senior Manager
FluidStack — San Francisco, California, United States · In-Person · Senior
Role description
Role Overview
The Accounting Team is working on building the financial infrastructure from the ground up, standing up a lean finance org for the fastest-growing data center hyperscaler, and owning the full stack from vendor invoice to cap table. The Senior Manager will own technical accounting positions across financial instruments, revenue recognition, leases, and equity, and run the financial reporting close and produce accurate financial statements on a fast cycle.
What You Will Do
Write technical accounting memos, own a financial reporting close, produce GAAP financial statements, build accounting policies, processes, or controls from scratch, manage external auditors, and work through the accounting for genuinely novel or complex transactions.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The ideal candidate has written technical accounting memos on complex areas, owned a financial reporting close, built accounting policies, and managed external auditors. Bonus qualifications include a CPA, Big Four technical accounting or national-office background, capital-intensive industry experience, and NetSuite or comparable ERP implementation.
Requirements
- Written technical accounting memos on complex areas such as revenue recognition, leases, business combinations, or equity
- Owned a financial reporting close and produced GAAP financial statements on a demanding timeline
- Built accounting policies, processes, or controls from scratch rather than maintaining a mature function
- Managed external auditors through a full audit and resolved contentious positions without the timeline blowing up
- Worked through the accounting for genuinely novel or complex transactions where the precedent was thin
- Explained technical accounting conclusions clearly enough that non-accountants can act on them
